THE BROKEN BAY INSTITUTE IS AFFILIATED WITH THE

UNIVERSITY OF NEWCASTLE AND IS LOCATED AT

PENNANT HILLS (NORTHERN SYDNEY)

 

The Broken Bay Institute is seeking expressions of interest for two part-time positions of Lecturer – Theology & Ethics. BBI Lecturers are educational leaders who can teach in a variety of modes such as intensives, online, distance, and face-to-face weekly classes. The position will include teaching intensives in a variety of locations in rural and regional Australia.

 

The successful applicant will be expected to teach and assess at introductory undergraduate, advanced undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

 

BBI is affiliated with the University of Newcastle and is a specialist theological provider with the largest array of tertiary Catholic distance theological programs in Australia. Faculty are conjoint appointments of the University of Newcastle.

 

Prospective candidates should be able to demonstrate commitment to the mission and Catholic ethos of BBI.

 

Essential criteria:

·         Undergraduate and Postgraduate qualifications in theology and ethics

·         Demonstrated excellence in teaching and learning including familiarity with current developments in theology and ethics

 

Desirable criteria:

·         Capacity to teach students from a variety of ages and cultural backgrounds

·         Ability to work with colleagues in a collaborative and interdisciplinary manner in both educational and office contexts

·         Demonstrated excellence in adult faith education

 

Remuneration package:

Remuneration package: depending on experience, range of $80,000 – $85,800 (which includes base salary of $73k-$78k p.a. pro rata, leave loading and 9% employer’s contribution to superannuation). An initial 12 month contract will be offered, with option to renew.
