The College is building on its long established Pastoral System, which includes Sub Deans, Resident Assistants and Corridor Representatives, as well as resident senior staff. The College is seeking to appoint up to 4 Resident Tutors (House Tutors) as a further element in the Pastoral System.
The primary responsibility of Resident Tutors is to provide support for students within the context of the College’s Vision, Mission and Catholic ethos. House Tutors have a key role in maintaining a positive and inclusive culture throughout the College.
Each Tutor will be provided with a comfortable one-bedroom flat with ensuite bathroom on a student corridor in the Polding Wing. Meals are available in the Hall, which provides a good opportunity to engage with students, including Formal Dinner on Monday nights.
It is expected that House Tutors will make themselves generally available to students during defined hours on several evenings per week. In addition, there will be a limited shift roster within the College and at intercol events.
Successful applicants must have a strong commitment to the educational formation of young women and men, be willing to engage in college life, and have the ability to work with a small and dedicated team.
Applicants must also be prepared to contribute to the broader cultural life of the College including attendance at social, sporting and cultural activities.
Residential Tutors will be charged an accommodation fee of $800.00 per fortnight by direct debit, and will be paid a salary of $480.00 per fortnight (less applicable tax) by EFT plus 9.5% superannuation. For tax law and employment law reasons it is not possible to set off the accommodation fee against the salary – separate payments are required.
