Townsville Catholic Education Office is a service organisation supporting 30 Catholic schools and employing more than 2,500 staff throughout the Diocese.
Our mission is to provide services to our Catholic school communities which support them in achieving quality outcomes for students and in promoting the ongoing development of Catholic Education.

Townsville Catholic Education Office (TCEO) operates under the direction of the Diocesan Administrator, Fr Michael Lowcock and under the organisational leadership of the Executive Director, Dr Cathy Day.
The Townsville Catholic Education Office is based in Townsville, employing more than 70 staff members who service schools in various areas of speciality – religious education, curriculum, ICT, Indigenous education, counselling, speech pathology, hearing and vision impairment, early years education, employment services, finance, planning and development and marketing.
The Diocesan Education Council (DEC) is the advisory body representing Catholic Education. The Council comprises members who reflect the interests and views of various groups associated with the teaching mission of the Church. The DEC in conjunction with the Director and Leadership team ensure the direction of the organisation runs in harmony with the Church’s mission and vision for Catholic education in the Diocese.
The Catholic Diocese of Townsville spans an area of more than 435,000 km2 across North and North West Queensland.
The Townsville Diocese covers an area that extends from Proserpine in the south through to Ingham in the north. The area also extends west to the Northern Territory border.
The Diocese includes the major commercial centres of Townsville and Mount Isa and several rural and remote communities including Palm Island.
