The Cardoner Project an initiative of the Australian Jesuits, a Catholic social enterprise for the young is seeking an energetic person to support and further develop business processes, accounting and finance. If you have prior experience in Business Support and Accounting for a small to medium size operation and are eager to support an exciting growth phase of The Business Support and Accounting Assistant Manager – The Cardoner Project.
You will be an energetic with a passion for a not for profit connecting with young people. You are a self-starter with an eye for detail and continuous improvement to support growth of an organization. Your interest and familiarity with Jesuit teachings will be an added advantage to fulfilling the role.
About the role
A great opportunity to be part of a small team supporting extensive growth plans.
Manage, the purchase ledger including credit card transactions and the sales ledger. Updating bank transactions and maintaining reconciliations.
Support Two Wolves Abroad with calendar bookings for events and presentation with their respective stakeholder groups. Provide Administration Support for Two Wolves Abroad maintaining Volunteer records, – update, invoicing in the accounting system and CRM.
Support Two Wolves Community Cantina with daily banking reconciliation and maintaining transaction records inclusive of the respective ledgers.
Draft up and improve processes and procedures relevant to the role. Encourage and ensure a culture of best practice and taking ownership.
The Cardoner Project an initiative of The Australian Jesuits, a Catholic social enterprise for young people, driven by young people, that engages with communities overseas in projects that seek to express a recognition and respect for disadvantaged and excluded groups. The Immersion Program aims to build hope in the communities we encounter. In the process it is we who are transformed.
The Two Wolves: Abroad is our new brand for the particular work of offering Immersion programs which are 2-3 week experiences of service and cultural exposure, working in basic conditions, with shared prayer and reflections everyday. Students learn from the local community, visit cultural sites, and volunteer on a meaningful service project working as close with the local people as possible.
The Cardoner Volunteer Corps (CVC) offers school leavers a deeper immersion with a preference for a full year placement, and in places associated with the work of the Society of Jesus. Our volunteers teach English language and numeracy, or other service-oriented tasks.
Two Wolves Cantina is our flagship social hub. It is a welcoming, volunteer-driven social enterprise eatery and bar offering simple street food menu and a common desire to serve others, find community and share meaning.
What is needed
- Accounting and Business Administration TAFE Certification or other relevant Accounting qualification
- Experience in managing a small to medium office with 10-15 employees
- Experience in bookkeeping and reconciliations
- Experience in juggling a range of tasks and prioritizing delivery in a small office
- Experience in supporting the management of small projects from inception through to final delivery
- A current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Successfully completed Police Check to be conducted prior to commencement by The Cardoner Project
- Demonstrated ability to manage time and be a self-starter
