Education Officers – Primary 2019 – Diocese of Lismore (4 positions)

  • Port Macquarie
  • Coffs Harbour
  • Lismore
The Catholic Schools Office, Diocese of Lismore is calling for applications from suitably qualified Teacher Educators for the role of Education Officer.   There are four positions available throughout the Diocese, servicing Primary Schools in their respective clusters from the beginning of the 2019 school year.

In common with all teachers in Catholic schools, an Education Officer is commissioned through baptism and delegated by apostolic authority to evangelise and catechise with a spirit of adventure in Catholic education. The Education Officer is further delegated to promote, with vigour and strength of belief, the capacity of parish school leadership teams to build learning communities immersed in the presence of Jesus Christ and His Church. In and through Jesus Christ these communities are immersed in the mystery of God’s presence and grace. These learning communities of the Church promote the communication of Truth, abundance of life for all and service to the world.

Working in association with the Assistant Directors, School Services Consultants and the School Evangelisation and Catechetical Services and Learning Services Consultants, the Education Officers provide specific support to Leaders and classroom teachers to enhance school improvement, manage system-wide initiatives and provide strategic advice relating to primary curriculum and pedagogy.

Based in either Lismore, Coffs Harbour or Port Macquarie, frequent travel throughout the Diocese will be required.  Internal staff to the diocese will be offered a three year secondment with right of return to the substantive position.  External appointees will be offered a five year renewable contract.
