Catholic School Parents Australia (CSPA) is seeking a highly motivated Executive Officer for a part time role (0.8 Full-time equivalent).
CSPA is the peak national parent body for Catholic School Parents in Australia. CSPA is committed to representing and advocating on behalf of families with children in Catholic schools across the nation. Our organization strives to create a vibrant and supportive community that values the unique contribution of families in shaping the educational experience of their children and young people. As a progressive organisation with membership of State and Territory Catholic Parent Associations, CSPA is well placed to provide a national voice for its members.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• A demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the values, ethos, philosophy and practice of Catholic education and its contribution to the mission of the Catholic Church.
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
• A demonstrated competency in using Microsoft and skills in social media.
• An ability to be proactive, manage competing priorities and be responsive to deadlines.
• An understanding of national education.
• An understanding of Family Engagement in Learning and Wellbeing and how it impacts student outcomes.
• The capacity to write submissions and proposals to the Australian Government.
• To demonstrate a sensitivity to the relationship between paid employees and volunteers.
• Strong time management and organisational skills, including the ability to manage projects and work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
• Financial acumen and ability to manage budgets.
Key responsibilities:
• Ability to develop appropriate relationships with Catholic Parent organisations, Education organisations and political parties.
• Contribute to the development of strategic priorities and a stakeholder engagement and communications plan for CSPA.
• Collaboratively identify issues and interests that are important to CSPA and member bodies.
• Have the capacity to organise four national meetings per year (including collation and preparation of papers, minute taking and ability to travel throughout Australia on weekends to attend those meetings).
• Ability to manage and meaningful contribute to other meetings with partners and stakeholders.
• Effective media management and advice to the Chair including responding to media enquiries and establishing and maintaining relationships with media.
• Experience with Graphic Design packages would be desirable.
