Ryde Gladesville Catholic Parish is a welcoming and vibrant parish community with a growing youth ministry that supports young people from primary school through to young adulthood. We are seeking an enthusiastic and faith-filled Youth Minister to lead and grow our youth programs, particularly our SPARC Youth Group for students in Years 7–12.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about youth ministry to accompany young people in their faith journey, develop youth leaders, and help foster a strong sense of community among the parish’s young people.

This role may particularly suit a university student studying teaching, youth work, ministry, theology, or a related field, who is looking to gain practical ministry and leadership experience while studying.

Position: Part-time (20 hours per week)

Key weekly commitments:

  • Friday Night Youth Group: 6:00pm – 9:00pm
  • Sunday Youth Mass: 6:00pm – 7:00pm

The Youth Minister will work closely with the Parish Priest, Youth Ministry Coordinator, volunteer leaders, and parish community to create engaging faith-based programs and meaningful opportunities for young people to grow spiritually and socially.

The Youth Minister will:

  • Lead and coordinate the SPARC Youth Group (Years 7–12).
  • Plan and support engaging youth sessions and activities throughout the year.
  • Mentor and support a team of volunteer youth leaders.
  • Help organise youth events, camps, and formation opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with young people, parents, and parish groups.
  • Collaborate with diocesan youth initiatives and parish events.
  • Ensure all youth activities comply with Archdiocesan safeguarding requirements.
  • Has experience in Youth Ministry, Youth Work, Parish Ministry, or leadership with young people.
  • Has a strong personal commitment to the Catholic faith and youth formation.
  • Enjoys working with young people and building community.
  • Demonstrates strong organisation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Is comfortable coordinating volunteers and planning events.
  • Has working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Canva.
  • Holds a current driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Be part of a supportive and vibrant parish community.
  • Help shape and grow the faith life of young people.
  • Gain valuable leadership and ministry experience.
  • Work alongside dedicated clergy, staff, and volunteer leaders.
