About the Opportunity

The Director of Technology is a key senior leadership appointment within the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney, responsible for shaping and delivering the long-term technology vision, governance, and service capability across the Archdiocese and its related agencies.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will provide strategic oversight of Technology Services, ensuring systems and infrastructure are fit for purpose, secure, resilient, well-governed, and aligned to the Archdiocese’s mission and operational priorities. You will lead enterprise-wide technology strategy, cybersecurity and risk governance, financial stewardship of technology investment, and the oversight of major technology initiatives and transformation programs.

Working closely with senior leadership, clergy, parishes, agencies, and external service providers, you will ensure technology operates as a trusted enabler of ministry, stewardship, and organisational change. This role balances strategic foresight with disciplined governance and service accountability, leading a mature and sustainable technology function capable of supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term growth.

The role will initially be based in Leichhardt and is scheduled to relocate to Sydney CBD in January 2027.

About You

You are an experienced technology leader with a strong track record of setting strategic direction and delivering secure, well-governed technology services within complex, multi-site organisations. You bring deep expertise in technology governance, project delivery, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, and risk management, along with the ability to translate organisational priorities into practical and sustainable technology solutions.

You are comfortable operating at executive level, providing clear advice and insight to senior leaders while maintaining oversight of major initiatives, budgets, and service performance. Your leadership style is measured and accountable, fostering a culture of professionalism, service orientation, and continuous improvement.

You combine strategic thinking with sound operational judgement, ensuring technology investments deliver value and support organisational growth and change. Experience leading transformation programs and managing external service providers will be highly regarded.

Above all, you bring integrity, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and an appreciation for working within a mission-driven, values-based environment. Experience in not-for-profit, education, or similarly purpose-led organisations will be advantageous.
