The Benedict XVI (BXVI) Retreat Centre is an initiative of the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney and Sydney Catholic Schools, providing a purpose-built environment dedicated to retreat, formation, and community.
Set within a peaceful bushland setting in Grose Wold, BXVI offers a welcoming space where school groups, parishes, agencies, and communities can step away from daily life to reflect, connect, and deepen their faith. About the role
The Guest Services and Administration Assistant plays a key role in delivering a welcoming and high-quality experience for all guests at the Benedict XVI Retreat Centre.
Based in a peaceful bushland setting, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, providing front-of-house support while assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Centre. Your role will be hands-on and varied, supporting hospitality services, guest bookings, event setup, and general administration in line with the Centre’s operational needs.
You will assist in preparing and maintaining guest areas, coordinating dining and meeting spaces, supporting functions and retreats, and ensuring all facilities are presented to a high standard. You will also work closely with the team to respond to enquiries, manage bookings, and support the safe and smooth running of the Centre.
This full-time and dynamic role is suited to someone who enjoys working in a service environment, is happy to be hands-on, and takes pride in creating a positive and welcoming experience for all guests.
About You
You are a friendly, reliable, and service-oriented individual who enjoys working with people and contributing to a welcoming environment.
You bring a strong customer service mindset and are confident engaging with guests, ensuring they feel supported and well cared for throughout their stay. You are practical and hands-on, willing to assist across a range of tasks including hospitality support, setup, and general administration.
You are organised and able to prioritise tasks in a busy environment, while maintaining attention to detail and a high standard of presentation. You are proactive, resourceful, and able to respond calmly and effectively to changing needs.
You hold (or are willing to obtain) a current First Aid and CPR certification, along with a valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
You work well as part of a team and are committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and professional environment. A willingness to support the mission and values of the Catholic Church is essential.
